I am the executive assistant for Kent Custom Homes and I do everything from answering the phone, emails, payroll permitting, bank draws, and inspections. You name it, I do it here. Kent Custom Homes have several floor plans that our clients can choose from or we also build custom homes that we have clients who come in with their own plans to make their dream home come true. We specialize in building in Osceola in Orange County. It just depends where our clients come from, but we will build pretty much anywhere in central Florida.
It’s a lot of time management working with all the different banks and all the different clients. They all want something different. They all have a different timeline. The inspectors do things differently as well. Sometimes the documents can be very confusing for the clients. They’re seeing a lot of breakdown that they don’t understand. They signed a contract for a full amount. They didn’t see all of these pennies here and there, everywhere. So that can sometimes cause conflict.
So we have to wait on the clients and we have to explain to them, you know, this is part of the process, this is the draw. They’re trying to do their due diligence, obviously, and that can be difficult sometimes.
I would tell another builder to definitely try OneSite. It will change your life as far as it goes in requesting draws. No Excel spreadsheets, no printing anything, no manual math. It’s very user-friendly and there’s not a lot of questions asked that gets sent to the client. The client signs it, it gets sent back in, we upload it, it’s done.
It’s always been very easy to use. I log in, select my client and I request the draw and it gives me a full breakdown of the items that I need to select. I just click them. It automatically does the math for me. So I know how much the draw is going to be and I submit it. It’s always been very easy to use.
I’ve been on some other portals similar and they have so much extra stuff on there that we just don’t need and don’t use. And it can get confusing. So I love that OneSite has just what we need. We’re not getting confused.
So accessibility for the clients and us as builders to submit and sign and do everything that we need to do is very efficient.
